2024: Bollig Engineering’s Year in Review

As we plan for 2025, we also want to take a moment to reflect on 2024 and the exciting things that have been going on with Bollig Engineering and our clients! 2024 has been a year of significant milestones and transformative projects that will make a lasting impact the small cities we serve. From moving to a new, larger headquarters to breaking ground on historic projects, we are proud to continue to strengthen, preserve, and transform the quality of life of communities.

Join us as we take a closer look at the highlights of 2024, celebrating the progress made and the partnerships that have fueled our success.

Moving to a New, Larger LocationBollig Engineering on the Minnwest Campus in Willmar MN

In January 2024, we moved our headquarters to a larger, more modern office building, still located on the beautiful MinnWest Technology Campus in Willmar. This new space allows us to better serve our clients by providing a more collaborative and innovative environment, and room to grow. With plenty of room for a growing team, we will continue to deliver top-notch infrastructure solutions to the small cities we support.

Brand Refresh & New Website

In February 2024, we introduced a new logo and launched a new website! Our refreshed brand and website reflects our value of continuous improvement.  With a more user-friendly experience online, we are accessible to more small cities, can share success stories, and provide helpful information and resources to serve our neighbors. Our tagline, “Designed for Small Cities” emphasizes our deep understanding and focus on the needs of small cities, rather than generic solutions.

Breaking Ground on a Historic Airport Project

In August 2024, we broke ground on the first new airport built in Minnesota in over 20 years, the Karlstad Municipal Airport! This project is a significant milestone not just for us, but for the community it will serve, and the state of Minnesota!  The community of Karlstad, MN saw potential to serve recreational and business users in the area, enabling their local economy to grow. Bollig Engineering worked with the airport, residents, and local businesses to make the case for a new airport in a location that significantly increases economic development opportunities and supports its users’ needs.

PSMJ Award for being a Top Performing Engineering Firm

In September 2024, we were honored to receive the 2024 PSMJ Award for being a Top-Performing Engineering firm for the fifth time in seven years. This prestigious award recognizes our dedication to client satisfaction and our ability to deliver high-quality engineering solutions. As our President Brian Bollig remarked, “…We believe that every project, no matter the size, has the potential to make a significant impact on that community. Our small city clients are the backbone of our operations. This award is a testament to the meaningful relationships we have built and the positive changes we have achieved together.”

Growing our Team

By the end of 2024, we increased our staff by 33% and hired people with expertise funding, engineering, construction management and planning! This growth means we have more collaboration and team effort available to assist our clients with their projects. Our expanded team brings diverse skills and perspectives, enabling us to tackle a wider range of infrastructure challenges and deliver even better results for the communities we serve.

Serving More Small Cities Than Ever!

This year, we helped more small cities than ever before! Our work in these communities is at the heart of what we do. From improving water systems to upgrading public facilities, we are dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for communities. Some of our current projects include work at the Orr Municipal Airport, and infrastructure improvements in Russell, South Haven, and Lake Lillian. We believe that with teamwork, amazing things can happen, and we are proud to partner with these communities to achieve their infrastructure goals.

We want to thank everyone who trusted us or helped us with our progress and growth in 2024 – we value each and every relationship! We are looking forward to an even more amazing 2025, as we continue to work toward our purpose of being “… neighbors serving neighbors, working to strengthen, preserve, and transform the future and quality of life of communities.”
