Engineering Intern

Bollig Engineering is a growing civil engineering firm with offices in Minnesota, South Dakota and North Dakota. We are passionate about rural communities and delivering high-quality, value-driven engineering solutions. We are currently seeking a motivated Civil Engineering Intern to support our licensed engineers and project teams on municipal infrastructure and construction projects across the upper Midwest.

Civil Engineering Intern — Job Responsibilities

  • Support licensed civil engineers and project teams on municipal infrastructure projects, including design, documentation and project management activities
  • Assist the Construction Services Manager with construction observation, site documentation, construction staking and as-built record keeping
  • Review project specification compliance and assist with quantity tracking
  • Support engineering and design staff on civil project tasks as needed
  • Assist with internal administrative project activities including tracking and preparation for council meetings

Civil Engineering Intern — Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, construction management or a related field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a willingness to learn and a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively with internal team members and external project stakeholders
  • Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors for extended periods across a variety of site conditions
  • Willingness to perform a wide variety of tasks in different field environments
  • Foundational proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 40 lbs
  • Interest in or passion for rural infrastructure and small-community challenges is a plus
