Infrastructure Improvements
The City of Raymond needed to replace two leaking wastewater ponds, and securing additional funding was crucial to make the project affordable for the City. Bollig Engineering worked with the City to complete construction of three new treatment ponds, in addition to replacing the existing lift station pumps and constructing a new lift station to allow for development on the City’s south side.
As part of the comprehensive plan, Bollig Engineering also worked with the City of Raymond to address:
- Reconstruction of three badly deteriorated city streets
- Construction of a new city-owned 22 lot residential subdivision
- Assessments for city and county work in compliance with MN Statute 429
- Milling and overlaying of approximately one mile of residential streets
- 25-ft deep jack and bore sewer crossing of RR and grain Elevator
An additional project component involved reconstructing badly deteriorated city streets and sidewalks. Bollig worked with the City to obtain funding through a combination of state aid and city resources. Due to Bollig’s prudent design practices the project was completed under budget, making additional restoration possible for the City.
2023 BNSF Train Derailment in Raymond
Most recently, Bollig Engineering worked with the City of Raymond to help obtain MN Legislative bonding funds. The BNSF train derailment in Raymond on March 30, 2023, was an unfortunate reminder that the City of Raymond lacks the facilities to effectively meet the community’s emergency needs. The City’s upcoming Community Center project was selected for $1.1 Million of Congressionally Directed Spending.
