As City Engineer, Bollig Engineering has provided design, bidding, construction administration, and construction oversight to multiple roadway and infrastructure projects throughout the City of Brooten. The projects have included watermain replacement, storm sewer, sanitary sewer improvements, sidewalks, new downtown lighting, and highway/street reconstruction projects.
Industrial Park & Airport Improvements
Historically, Brooten has been progressive in its infrastructure maintenance and replacement throughout the City and in its industrial park. In 2010, Bollig assisted the City in developing a master plan for the Industrial Park and Airport which led to the following industrial park improvements: addition of municipal water, roadway realignment and paving, railway signal lights and turn lane safety improvements, and sanitary sewer and watermain extension to undeveloped lots. Airport improvements have included design and construction of a new airport terminal building, installation of runway lighting, a new fuel system, and more. Roadway Project & Infrastructure Improvements
The City of Brooten was faced with reconstructing County State Aid Highway 18 through its downtown, and city development funds were extremely limited. Bollig Engineering worked with the City to help obtain leveraged funding by identifying additional opportunities, while also providing full design, engineering, and construction oversight.
Infrastructure Solutions:
- Reconstructed an existing downtown urban street section, including streets, curb, sidewalks, and lighting
- Worked with business owners to update downtown awnings, signage, and fascia
- Corrected sidewalks for ADA compliance
- Alleviated numerous existing storm water issues
- Collaborated closely with the County Engineering Department and MnDOT
- Additional project components included watermain replacement, new downtown lighting, sidewalks, and storm sewer. Bollig has also assisted City leadership in developing an overall improvement plan to meet the needs of its business tenants and support future growth in its existing industrial park.
Bollig Engineering is proud of a longstanding relationship with the City of Brooten and the Brooten Municipal Airport. In all, Brooten has utilized Bollig’s engineering and construction oversight expertise on over 27 projects. Working on behalf of the City of Brooten, Bollig has leveraged over a dozen funding partners to make these projects and improvements possible.
